“If tomorrow is judgment day

And I’m standing on the front line

And the Lord ask me what I did with my life

I will say I spent it with you.”

- Whitney Houston

(My Love Is Your Love)

A reader once asked me how much I get paid for writing. I replied that the reward of writing does not come in cash. I went on to add that seeing the minds of men and women change and their outlooks broadened was enough reward for writing. Keeping the discussion going and seeing the knowledge shared was more fulfilling than any material reward.

The other day, however, I got my biggest reward. And that is the subject of this story. Sometime last year, in the article MEE, Myself and Edna, I introduced Edna. I presented a preface to one of the stranger than fiction stories I know. In A Strange Summer Flower, I spotlighted the development of our relationship and how the orbits of Venus and Mars were interlocking. In between these times, I have evolved into a being that is closer to my inner self and the norms of my forefathers. I have come to the same conclusion that Zsa Zsa Gabor came to long ago — “A man in love is incomplete until he has married. Then he’s finished.”
